Benny’s Bull Run

A Showgrounds Redevelopment Fundraiser

We’re calling on Sligo Rovers supporters to donate to help get Benny home.

Over Friday 5th and Saturday 6th of April Benny will be making the 1,928 metre journey from Queen Maeve’s Square to the Showgrounds. Every euro donated will help Benny move along on his journey to the gates of the Showgrounds. For every €20 donated, Benny will move one metre closer home.

Help us get Benny back in time for our home game v Galway United on 6th April!

All monies raised will go towards the Showgrounds Redevelopment Fund. Your donations will help develop the Showgrounds into a first class stadium before our centenary year in 2028.

Showgrounds Redevelopment

Sligo Rovers was founded 95 years ago in 1928. In that time, the Showgrounds has been our one and only home.

The masterplan will see an exciting redevelopment of the Showgrounds before our centenary year in 2028. This project is live, active and progressing. Ahead of the current season ,as part of the masterplan, new state of the art LED floodlights were installed on the Jinks Avenue side of the ground to complement the two pylons already in situ on the Treacy Avenue Stand side.

To see the Masterplan come to fruition, the majority of funding will be sourced from large scale government grants. However, in order to receive state funding, fundraisers such as Benny’s Bull Run are required for the club to match a certain percentage of the capital required.

One of the last fully supporter owned clubs in the the League of Ireland Premier Division, Sligo Rovers relies on its supporters to keep the club competing [against the odds] with clubs backed by millionaires. The redevelopment of the Showgrounds is an important step in securing the future of our community owned club and your support and donations are greatly appreciated.
